Dear Maritime Archaeology Programme,
I am working on a weather calendar that has an article about the gale of 1811 and the loss of the HMS St. George. I am searching for images to illustrate this article. Can you please tell me if it would be possible (and under what terms) to use the image “Recording the Rudder of HMS St. George”. Or any other images that you think might be relevant. (I emailed the Strandingsmuseum twice over a month ago and have not received a response and am looking for other sources of images and help).

Thank you for your attention to this matter, best regards, Kristen Hall

The BBC Wales website for SOUTH-EAST WALES, under the sub-heading “History”, is carrying a news item about the laser sintering process which exactly replicates each timber of the NEWPORT MEDIEVAL SHIP to allow the building of a 1:10 scale replica.
The best way to locate it is to go to http://WWW.BBC.CO.UK and “search” for THE NEWPORT SHIP.
As of this morning it was the last item in the BBC’s menu dealing with the Newport Ship.

Best wishes with your projects.
